What Are Alarm.com Scenes?
An Alarm.com scene allows you to sync up multiple smart home functions simultaneously. These include alarm functions, such as arming or disarming your security system. They also include smart home functions involving any number of smart home devices, such as lights, thermostats, and more.
How Does it Work?
Users can give scenes specific names related to their actions while activating the scene. For example, the Alarm.com app comes with buttons to activate “Home,” “Away,” “Sleep,” and “Wake Up” scenes by default. Activating one of these sets in motion a chain of alarm and smart home device activity related to arriving or leaving your home, going to bed, and waking up, respectively. For example, the “Sleep” scene may dim lights for an hour, turn off electronics, lock doors, and set the alarm. The potential number of commands mirrors the number of smart technologies connected to the system.

- Access Control doors
- Z-Wave lights
- Lutron lights and shades
- Water valves
- Arming or Disarming the Security System
